FORT MCMURRAY (YMM)

The YMM Angel Flight Club is based out of the Fort McMurray International Airport, which is the primary airport we fly missions from, and allows us to easily serve Fort McMurray, Fort McKay, and Anzac residents as part of Phase 1.

Flight time to YEG = 1.5 hours

FORT CHIPEWYAN (YPY)

Fort Chipewyan is the most northern community that we serve in the Wood Buffalo region, and for roughly 8 months of the year its residents rely almost entirely on aviation for transportation to be able to travel outside their community.

Flight time to YEG = 2.5 hours

JANVIER (EP5)

Janvier is the most southern community in the Wood Buffalo region that we have the potential to serve directly.  *Flights from Janvier are possible only during the snow-free months of the year when the airstrip is accessible and safe.

Flight time to YEG = 1.5 hours

We will go the distance!

ABOUT US

The YMM Angel Flight Club was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in Alberta in 2020, and was established to help address the local need for residents of the Wood Buffalo region to access vital healthcare services not available in our communities.  This means that our volunteer pilots fly patients predominantly to and from the Edmonton area to access non-emergency healthcare services that are simply not an option in Fort McMurray.  The reality for Wood Buffalo area residents is that accessing medical services outside the region is often vital, but for many it is extremely challenging to reach due to geographic, financial, or medical barriers.  We are an organization of dedicated volunteers simply trying to help ensure those in need can access world leading medical care that is available to Albertans by providing no cost, timely, and safe air transportation, in order to help lift the burden and bring essential medical services within reach of all residents living in our northern communities.  We also work hand-in-hand with Angel Flight Alberta to make transportation in the Edmonton area a breeze!
